The Legend That Was Norm Macdonald

Today we learned that comedic legend Norm Macdonald passed away after coming to a draw with cancer after nine years. It may not come as a surprise to you that I enjoy funny things and funny people. Norm was one of those people. I’ve never sat and thought about who my favorite comedian is because it’s not that important of an idea to me. Funny is funny and that’s enough for me. But another thing I do is go in stretches of binge watching different shows and videos. Sometimes it’s Succession, sometimes it’s pizza reviews. Sometimes it’s Arrested Development, and other times it’s Norm Macdonald jokes.

If you’re a fan of Norm or have followed along online at all today, you’ve probably seen many of the hits. There’s Weekend Update, the time he did the White House Correspondents Dinner, Celebrity Jeopardy on SNL, and of course, the moth joke. All excellent, but I wanted to share a couple of my personal favorites: the ESPYs, and one of his many classic appearances with Conan O’Brien.

Rest in peace Norm. Thanks for the laughs. I think I know what I’m watching tonight.
