Today was the first day of school for the young(est) men in the family. They didn’t actually have school, we just met their teachers and dropped their stuff off. But it was still the first day. Semantics.
Upon arrival, there was a table setup outside at which two aides were sitting. The Phy Ed teacher was also outside. Former high school hockey coach.
“Welcome back gentlemen.”
Of course he knew my kids. After exchanging pleasantries, we headed to the table to collect our packets.
“Second and fourth grade, right?”
We hadn’t introduce ourselves. We were masked up. They were barely in school last year. And these women not only knew who the boys were, but knew what grade they were in.
“Oh that’s good I’m sure, they already know who you are.”
One of the aides assured me that it was, in fact, a good thing. I’m not convinced. I will continue to monitor the situation.
