Disney+ arrived with a lot of fanfare when it launched a little over a year ago. I’m a Disney guy, I like Star Wars, and I’m a Marvel whore, so naturally I was all aboard from the get-go. Despite my kids discovering The Simpsons, overall it’s been pretty average at best, though. A couple of weeks ago they announced like 800 Star Wars and Marvel TV shows and movies, so the future is bright. Last week was pretty great, too.
We were a week late, but the youth and I finally got around to watching the season finale of The Mandalorian. I do enjoy Star Wars, but I am by no means an expert or someone who truly understands the mythology. That doesn’t really matter; Mando and company star in probably my favorite show of the last couple of years. And I know enough to appreciate what this season, and the finale, had to offer. Great progrum, would watch again. The best thing I watched last week.
Christmas Day also saw the release of Pixar’s latest, Soul. I wasn’t really sure how they were gonna handle a movie literally about some dude dying, but they knocked it out of the park. I don’t have an official ranking of Pixar movies, but this has to be in the top 5, and that’s saying something.
Wonder Woman 1984 also came out on Christmas. I didn’t think it was as bad and boring as a lot of other people, but it is not good and quite boring.
Somewhere between WW84 and Soul would be Top Chef re-runs. Much closer to Soul.
