Our Long National Nightmare is Finally Over

This shit has piled up over the last few years. I personally never did anything about because, hey, it’ll get better next year. It never did of course. How could it? We just sat idly by, hoping things would somehow change on their own. But things just seemed to be getting worse the last couple of weeks. So yesterday I went out and did what younger me never would’ve done.

I bought a leaf blower. This one to be exact.

“Really Nick? A leaf blower?”

OK OK, I get it. It’s technically a leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher.

“No. You don’t get it. A leaf blower? Seriously?”

Well again, we’re talking semantics here, but it’s a blower/vacuum/mulcher. And I know, in the past I have espoused the idea of rakes only, or just straight up doing nothing with the leaves. I have two major problems though: I have a bunch of trees in my yard, and I have kids.

Lots of trees = lots of leaves. I could maybe live with that, but it’s pretty annoying. Especially when you compare my yard to the perfectly manicured lawns of the old people in my neighborhood. But even if I wanted to, I can’t ignore the leaves, because kids = leaf piles. Stack ’em high and let ’em fly. I have it on good authority if you leave those piles unattended, you get unsightly dead spots in your yard.

So it was time for me to grow up, and become lazy in a different way. Finally we don’t have to worry about these problems anymore. I’m getting the leaves out of my yard, and keeping them out of yours. You’re welcome.
